PROJECTS & PROGRAMS
Defined work, clear outcomes.
Some challenges need more than advice or a single workshop. We take on defined pieces of work, from a short Health Check to a major reform over several months.
A project is bespoke work for one organisation. A program is a repeatable package that builds capability across many clubs, leaders or members at once, often funded by a council, state body or peak body.

NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
Start with a Health Check.
Two to four weeks, bounded and practical, ending in a clear set of priorities for the next 12 months.

WHAT WE HELP YOU ACHIEVE
Designing how organisations work.
Clarity, alignment, structure and momentum. We’re comfortable working where the environment is complex, the stakeholders are diverse and the answer isn’t obvious.
-
Deciding what you’re trying to become, and letting that drive your strategic and enabling plans.
-
Clear roles between board and management, good decision-making and governance that supports the organisation.
-
As organisations grow, merge or take on new priorities, the way they work needs to evolve too. We design organisational, governance and operating models that connect purpose and strategy with structure, roles, accountabilities, decision-making, systems and delivery, and we support the move to the new model.
-
Meaningful change needs more than a good plan. We work with boards, leaders, teams, members and stakeholders to build a shared understanding of purpose and direction, bring different interests together, and turn new strategies and structures into practical action.
-
Workforce and capability planning, inclusion strategies, volunteers and staff, and a culture that helps people stay and thrive. Fiona was a key contributor to Queensland’s Active Industry Workforce Plan 2024–2034.
-
Member and community engagement, consultation, participation and partnerships, including programs that help clubs and regions understand who is missing and grow with their changing communities.

LONG-TERM AMBITION & INTENT
What will you become?
Most strategic plans look three to five years ahead and are often written without a clear sense of where the organisation is ultimately heading. We help boards and leadership teams set a long-term ambition and strategic intent for the next 10–20 years, which then drives shorter-term strategic thinking, strategic plans and the enabling plans and outcomes that deliver them. You can’t write a 20-year plan. But you can decide what you’re trying to become, and let that shape every plan and decision that follows.
In practice: as Group CEO, Shane led the 20-Year Strategic Vision (2024–2044) for the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA), a group of four historic independent schools. Built with the board, executives, school leaders, staff, alumni, students and external experts, it set a long-term ambition and six priorities that drive the group’s shorter-term plans through an Integrated Planning Framework.
Explore · Beyond the Strategic Plan
A half-day or full-day workshop for boards and leadership teams: what should endure, what’s changing, what you could become over 10–20 years, and what that means for decisions now.
Define · Ambition and strategic intent
Review, future scanning, stakeholder and community engagement and board workshops, setting a long-term ambition, strategic intent and a small number of enduring priorities. Designed to evolve, not a rigid 20-year plan.
Enable · Strategic and enabling plans
Translating the intent into the next strategic plan, enabling plans (people, assets, digital, finance), measures and governance, often with ongoing advisory support.
FOR CLUB, COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS LEADERS
Advisory Boards
Better decisions through independent thinking and shared experience. Join a small, independently chaired group of leaders who help each other think, decide and grow, or let us set up and chair an advisory board for your organisation.
PROGRAMS
Programs for many at once.
Programs run over weeks or months and reach many clubs, leaders or members at once, at a fraction of the cost of one-by-one support. Each is designed with the people involved and evaluated so it can be repeated.
Future Ready Regions
For councils and regional sport: helping 8–15 clubs grow with their changing communities. Now seeking pilot regions.
Advisory Boards
For club, community and business leaders: the Engage Leaders Forum, the Engage Advisory Collective, and dedicated advisory boards.
Club Committee Reset program
For state bodies, leagues and councils: practical governance and planning for many club committees at once.
Leadership cohorts
For new chairs, CEOs and emerging leaders: peer learning and challenge over several months.
In practice: Fiona has supported more than 100 community clubs through the Alcohol and Drug Foundation’s Good Sports program, and launched and delivered the Sports Decentralisation Partnership Program across Bendigo, Mount Gambier, Devonport, Geraldton and the Clarence Valley. She was also a key contributor to Queensland’s Active Industry Workforce Plan 2024–2034, a 2025 PLA National Awards finalist.
FOR COUNCILS AND REGIONAL SPORT
Future Ready Regions
A place-based sport and community program that helps clubs across a region understand how their community is changing, where future participation could come from, and what they need to do to attract, welcome and keep those people.
“Who lives in our community now — and who is missing from our club?”
